This website page is the link to the Arizona Respite Network which is the home of Arizona’s Lifespan Respite Care Network. The Lifespan Respite Care Network is an integral part of the Arizona Caregiver Coalition, and provides Arizona with an ongoing resource dedicated to supporting caregivers across the lifespan. Our role is to create access to the respite they deserve need and support to continue in their all-important caregiving role. Please visit the home page to learn a variety of subjects and access to information on the value of respite to caregivers and how caregivers can reach out for a break when they need it!
The Arizona Lifespan Respite Care Program was authorized and funded in 2008 after the the Lifetime Respite Care Program was signed into law by President George W. Bush in 2006. It is now called “Lifespan Respite Act” of 2006.
Currently there are no appropriations from the Arizona State Legislature. We advocate for the return of the Arizona Lifespan Respite Act which included prostrations for $50,0000 that was taken away in 2008. This provision would cover a full-time employee with the Arizona Caregiver Coalition to lead and coordinate the Lifespan Respite Care Program which is referred to as the Arizona Caregiver Coalition.
Over the years, the program was developed into what services are currently offered and in development by the Arizona Caregiver Coalition. Thanks to federal funding over the years, which has supported the efforts of the Arizona Caregiver Coalition. On going advocacy for state funded Lifespan Respite Care Program is vital to the success and growth of the Arizona Caregiver Coalition. These funds would greatly enhanced Arizona’s chances any funding opportunities for sustainability in the future. Our state has demonstrated their understanding of the importance of lifespan respite care and we look forward to legislative support in upcoming years.
