According to this recent release of the Valuing the Invaluable: The Growing Contributions and Costs of Family Caregiving - 2011 Update, it was estimated that there were 855,000 family caregivers in Arizona at any given time during 2009. The value of the services provided by those caregivers, which help to keep their loved ones lived independently at home, is estimated at $9.4 billion!

This brand new report, Raising Expectations: A State Scorecard on Long-Term Services and Supports for Older Adults, People with Physical Disabilities, and Family Caregivers, indicates Arizona is ranked 15th overall in long-term care of aging and disabled individuals. One of the four sub-categories of ratings in the report has Arizona ranked #3 nationwide in support of family caregivers!
